Rob McDermott (Convenor)
Rob is a lecturer in the Department of Creative Industries at Forth Valley College. He teaches English and Media Studies, and is responsible for various theoretical and production units from Level 3 to Degree level and is a Higher Media Studies marker. He is part of the development team for HN Media and Communication and a member of the Media QDT.
Des Murphy (Secretary) Formerly Principal Teacher of English and Media at Bridge of Don Academy in Aberdeen and Curriculum Support Teacher for Media for Aberdeen City, Des is now a freelance CPD provider He is currently editor of the Media Education Journal. Website: www.desmurphy.co.uk

Robert Preece (Treasurer)
Robert was PT Geography at Inverness Royal Academy, but for many years also taught Media Studies. He retired from full-time teaching in 2003, but still retains an interest in Media Studies through AMES. He has been Treasurer since 1997.
Wendy Elrick
Wendy is currently PT Faculty of English at Aboyne Academy in Aberdeenshire, teaching English and Media Studies. She is undertaking an MEd at the University of Aberdeen, writing a dissertation focusing on Media teaching in the Broad General Education.
Rick Instrell

Rick was Principal Teacher of Computing at Lasswade High School Centre, Midlothian. He is also a mathematics teacher, a founder member of AMES and has co-written Computing and Media Studies courses and units for SCOTBEC, SCOTVEC and SQA. He co-wrote the original Media Studies NQ arrangements. Rick is freelance CPD provider and educational consultant (www.deep-learning.co.uk). His current interests are the application of the principles of multimodal communication across learning.
Steve James Steve teaches Film Studies, Communication and Marketing in the Department of Creative Industries at Dumfries & Galloway College. He is also a piano teacher and has co-written music for several TV series.
Liz Roberts Liz was Team Leader and Curriculum Manager at Aberdeen College, teaching SCOTVEC Media modules, HND and NQ Media Studies. She was involved in writing Arrangements for NQ Media Studies and is a setter for the Reading the Media Paper for Advanced Higher English.

Julie Laing

Julie is a Curriculum Enhancement Lecturer in media and creative industries at West College Scotland.  She is SQA Media marker and member of the design team for HN Creative Industries.  She is currently undertaking a Masters of Research in Creative Practices at Glasgow School of Art.
